NETWORK LIFE

November 1, 2021

Certainly, it is a time to pray.

A core practice within the LMT Network is to nourish increasing prayer for Muslims in Canada. At our National Conference in 2018 we were challenged with the words ‘It takes a prayer movement to reach a prayer movement.’ Islam is centered around the 5 daily prayers. Our vision is that we Christ-followers would be as diligent in prayer as Muslims are—but our prayers are powerful because the Holy Spirit inspires them, and they are aligned with the heart of God.

Here are 5 ideas to help you grow in prayer:

  1. Join the monthly online prayer gatherings held on the last Friday of each month. Join at 11am, 4pm or 8pm ET for one hour. The focus will be on needs here in Canada, although global concerns undoubtedly will be lifted up. You can find out more information here. Those who have participated in previous months automatically receive an invitation with the link to the next one. If you’d like to join this prayer initiative and receive the link simply fill out this form
  2. Pray with others. Join in the FFM Day of Prayer for the Muslim World, including their 24 hours online upcoming Global Day of Prayer on November 13.
  3. Sign up to receive regular prayer blog encouragement. Every week the GOD HEARS prayer blog focuses our prayers on a current issue in the Muslim world. Every month the Monthly Call to Prayer encourages us with the testimony of a believer who left Islam to follow Jesus and invites us to pray with them that many others will make the same journey. You can sign up to receive these automatically by visiting www.lovingmuslimstogether.ca/pray
  4. Pray with your church. One of the core initiatives of the LMT Network is to inspire churches to pray for their nearest mosque community. You can read more about this initiative here. Why don’t you start a group at your church?
  5. Grow in prayer. Consider registering for a prayer event that will challenge you to stretch and grow! Two I recommend: Transform Prayer Course which is an online course that journeys in community to grow in prayer; and GroundWorks, a global prayer event praying for the Muslim world from within the Muslim world. This event is not in Canada and is not online—so it is costly in time and money, but it is valuable! Are you part of a prayer group that you’d like others to join? Send us your information and we’ll include it in future issues of the Digest. Info@lmtn.ca.

No one is born hating another person because of the color of his skin or his background or his religion.

You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, all your strength and all your mind. And your neighbor as yourself.
