No comparison!

November 6, 2021

"You have multiplied, O Lord my God,
    Your wondrous deeds and Your thoughts toward us;
    none can compare with You!
I will proclaim and tell of them,
    yet they are more than can be told."
(Psalm 40:5)

Last week a subscriber sent me a link to the testimony of a devout Muslim evangelist who, while living within the rigid and violent Islamist environment of Gaza, left Islam to "[follow] in the footsteps of Jesus". He had decided to "weigh up" whether he should follow a prophet who "died and left us or someone who, until this day, for 2021 years [has] been waiting for me to come [to Him]". He discovered there is no comparison between the prophet of Islam and Jesus, between external deeds and internal spiritual life, between fear and love, and between darkness and light. Watch the 14-minute interview here: GAZA - Son of Imam encounters Son of God! and be blessed by the beautiful sound of Arabic speakers proclaiming the wondrous deeds and thoughts of Jesus (with English subtitles). This week's prayer requests arise from this testimony.

Let's pray for religious Muslims:

  • That the veil would be lifted to uncover the truth about the fallen humanity of the prophet of Islam
  • That their eyes would be opened to see the eternal nature and the perfection of Jesus, Son of God, who appeared on earth to save us (Matthew 16:15-17)
  • That the Spirit would help them circumvent the hurdle of changing religions by revealing that God has the power to rescue them from the domain of darkness and transfer them into the Kingdom of His Son, the Kingdom of light and truth (Colossians 1:12-13)

Let's pray for Muslim youth:

  • That they would "use their minds and think for a moment" about who is worthy to follow and whether they want to invest their lives in empty ritual and dead religion or in a trusting relationship with the Messiah, Jesus, who died for them, rose from the dead and is their Saviour and Redeemer
  • That they will pursue the Lord even as He is pursuing them
  • For the courage and conviction to deny themselves, take up the cross and follow Him (Matthew 16:24)

Declare over their lives that love is the greatest, that Jesus' love frees them from fear, that His love will turn their lives to good.

No one is born hating another person because of the color of his skin or his background or his religion.
